Our Data Services offering allows organizations to access AE Cloud data via integrated APIs.

APIs Set-Up: Machine-to-machine authentication

There are three types of APIs that use the same machine-to-machine authentication:

ARGUS APIs - ORGANIZATION>ADMIN SETTINGS>ENVIRONMENT>ARGUS API PRODUCT CARD>API TAB
Data Services APIs - ORGANIZATION>ADMIN SETTINGS>ENVIRONMENT>AE PRODUCT CARD>DATA SERVICES TAB
Voyanta APIs - ORGANIZATION>ADMIN SETTINGS>ENVIRONMENT>ARGUS VOYANTA PRODUCT CARD>VOYANTA API

When the API Set up screen first launches, only the UPLOAD CERTIFICATE button displays.

 

API Configuration

Upload a Certificate

Click UPLOAD CERTIFICATE.

Result: A file browsing popup appears.

Select a certificate.

Click Open.

Result: Provisioning triggers and new populated fields display. When the screen first launches, the CLIENT SECRET is not readable.

Option: Click the secure information icon to display field content.

Note: A button to regenerate a new CLIENT SECRET is present in case the Client Secret has been compromised. The icon allows copying CLIENT KEY and CLIENT SECRET to the clipboard.

ASSIGN USER

Assign a User to the API entitlement so when you are calling the API you can impersonate a particular user and access APIs and the data they have.

Before you begin: Users must have an AE or AVF entitlement in that environment.

Click ASSIGN USER to launch the ASSIGN USERS popup.

Select a user and click the ADD button.

Result: A Success popup confirms that the user was assigned successfully.
